Amazon has introduced the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, its first e-reader featuring a color e-ink display. This new model is part of a lineup of four new Kindles, including the second-generation Amazon Scribe, as well as updated Paperwhite and entry-level Kindle models.
The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition boasts a new light guide with nitride LEDs, providing paper-like color contrast, ideal for reading comics, viewing photos, and highlighting text in different colors. The device is also waterproof and offers up to eight weeks of battery life with wireless charging. It is priced at $279.99, with shipments starting on October 30.
In addition to the Colorsoft model, Amazon introduced the Kindle Scribe (2024), featuring a 10.2-inch, 300ppi screen and new AI features, such as text summarization and handwriting-to-text conversion. It includes the Premium Pen stylus with a soft tip and is priced at $399.99, with shipments starting on December 4.
The Kindle Paperwhite (2024) now comes with a 7-inch e-ink panel and a new oxide thin-film transistor for better contrast and sharper text, along with 25% faster page turns. It’s fully waterproof, and pricing starts at $159.99 for the standard model with 16GB storage, going up to $199.99 for the Signature Edition with 32GB storage and wireless charging.
