ZHENGZHOU, China — Yutong Bus (SHA: 600066), one of the world’s largest electric bus manufacturers, has introduced Yutong Link+, the international version of its Internet of Vehicles (IoV) platform. Positioned as a comprehensive upgrade to Vehicle+, the new system delivers AI-powered lifecycle management tools designed to improve safety, reduce energy consumption, and streamline global fleet operations.
Yutong describes Link+ as a secure, intelligent, one-stop solution for fleet operators seeking to enhance productivity and cut costs. The platform integrates real-time monitoring, intelligent management, and efficiency-driven services to optimize operational performance across diverse environments.
Smarter Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance
Link+ allows 24/7 visibility into fleet activity, including live vehicle tracking and remote inspection of more than 100 components. Intelligent one-minute checks detect risks proactively, reducing downtime and improving passenger safety.
The system leverages geo-fencing to impose automated speed limits, adjusts cabin conditions with remote air conditioning control, and schedules charging during off-peak hours to minimize energy costs. Data-driven insights identify inefficient usage patterns, enabling operators to implement targeted improvement strategies.
Efficiency Gains in Action
Public transport operator VOY Santiago SpA in Chile, which manages 214 Yutong new energy buses, has reported substantial improvements since adopting Link+. By using real-time mapping and automated diagnostics, the company reduced inspection times from four to five days to just 10 minutes.
Energy management has also seen dramatic results. Standardizing air conditioning settings at 22°C with fan speeds at 50% improved driver compliance, cut energy consumption by 1,848 kWh per day, and generated annual savings of roughly 49.3 million Chilean pesos during peak air conditioning seasons.
Digital Services and Data Security
The platform integrates an AI assistant capable of diagnosing faults and guiding repairs step-by-step. Operators can access more than 480,000 genuine OEM parts through transparent online ordering, supported by one-click repair bookings and direct connections with certified engineers.
Yutong emphasizes that Link+ complies with international standards for data security and privacy. Its Information Security Management System (ISMS) holds ISO 27001 and 27701 certifications, while its Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) has received EU accreditation. Multiple bus models have also passed the R155 model VTA certification for cybersecurity compliance.
Building Global Value
As urban transit systems accelerate the shift toward electrification, Yutong aims to position Link+ as a cornerstone technology for sustainable fleet management. “Powered by AI and big data, Link+ delivers smart lifecycle management solutions that create sustained value for global customers,” the company said in a statement.
By integrating advanced analytics, predictive maintenance, and digital service tools, Yutong Link+ underscores the company’s strategy of moving beyond manufacturing into technology-driven mobility solutions.
