Strategic DT Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Strategic DT Sacco, established in May 2007, initially served employees of Strategic Industries Limited. The Sacco now accommodates members from various market segments, providing opportunities for saving and borrowing at affordable rates.


Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to:

  • All individuals aged 18 years and above from various market segments.

Membership Requirements

To join Strategic DT Sacco, you need:

  1. A duly filled membership application form (available on the Sacco’s website).
  2. Registration fee of Kshs 1,000.
  3. A copy of your National ID and KRA PIN.
  4. Minimum monthly contribution of Kshs 1,500.
  5. Minimum shareholding of Kshs 10,000.

Products and Services

(a) Savings Products

  1. Sacco Junior Account
    • Minimum monthly saving: Kshs 200.
    • Withdrawals allowed once annually (withdrawals before the year incur a fee of Kshs 500).
    • Minimum interest-earning balance: Kshs 3,000.
    • No monthly charges.
    • Includes birthday wishes for children.
  2. Holiday Saving
    • Minimum saving period: 6 months.
    • Withdraw all savings and restart anytime.
    • Minimum monthly deposit: Kshs 200.
  3. Member Deposits
    • Secure savings option.
    • Minimum monthly contribution: Kshs 1,500.

(b) Credit Products

  1. Development Loan
    • Processing fee: Kshs 500.
    • Maximum repayment period: 36 months.
    • Interest rate: 1% per month on reducing balance.
  2. Business Loan
    • Multiplier: 3 times member’s savings.
    • Savings period: 6 months.
    • Flexible repayment period: Up to 48 months.
    • Interest rate: 2% per month.
  3. Emergency Loan
    • Multiplier: 3 times member’s savings.
    • Maximum repayment period: 12 months.
    • Processing fee: Kshs 300.
    • Interest rate: 1.25% per month on reducing balance.
    • Disbursed within 24 hours.
  4. Asset Finance
    • Multiplier rule applies.
    • Financing: Up to 50%.
    • Maximum repayment period: 36 months.
  5. School Fees Loan
    • Multiplier: 3 times member’s savings.
    • Savings period: 6 months.
    • Maximum repayment period: 12 months.
    • Interest rate: 1.25% per month on reducing balance.
    • Processing fee: Kshs 300.
  6. Refinancing Loan
    • Top-up facility for development loans.
    • Charges: 5% on outstanding loan balance.
    • Eligibility: Member must have paid at least 2/3 of the principal loan amount.
  7. Express Loan
    • Maximum loan: Kshs 20,000.
    • Savings period: 1 month.
    • Maximum repayment period: 5 months.
    • Interest rate: 5% per month on reducing balance.
    • Processing fee: Kshs 100.
  8. Golden Loan
    • Maximum loan: Up to a member’s savings.
    • Savings period: 3 months.
    • Maximum repayment period: 10 months.
    • Interest rate: 4% per month on reducing balance.
    • Processing fee: Kshs 300.
  9. Instant Loan
    • Maximum loan: Kshs 10,000.
    • Maximum repayment period: 3 months.
    • Interest rate: 10% per month on reducing balance.
    • Processing fee: Kshs 100.
  10. Product Loan
    • Multiplied 3 times member deposits, minus any outstanding balance.
    • No processing fee.
    • Maximum repayment period: 6 months.
    • Interest rate: 2% per month on reducing balance.
