Acumen Savings & Credit Co-operative Society was registered on 5th March 2008 to cater to the financial needs of its members. Initially formed by landlords in Ongata Rongai, Ngong, and Kiserian under the management of Acumen Properties Ltd, the Sacco opened its membership bond in 2012 to accommodate a diverse range of individuals and corporate entities.
Currently, the Sacco has approximately 2,376 members and assets worth Kshs 400 million.
Membership Eligibility
Any Kenyan individual or corporate entity registered under Kenyan law, engaging in legitimate business or earning a legitimate living in Kenya, is eligible to join Acumen Sacco.
Membership Requirements
- Fill a Membership Application Form:
- Available on the Sacco’s website or office.
- Attach Identification Documents:
- Copy of National ID, Passport, or Military ID.
- Pay the Following Fees:
- Registration fee: Kshs 1,000.
- Share capital: Kshs 5,000 (can be built over time).
- Application is processed in the office, and the new member receives an SMS alert with their membership number.

Membership Withdrawal Process
- A member must provide written notice of 60 days to declare their intention to withdraw.
- Ensure all outstanding loans are cleared.
- Guarantee obligations must be resolved (free of guarantorship).
