Sheria Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Sheria Sacco, established in 1972, is a leading deposit-taking Sacco in Kenya with an asset base of Kshs 8.51 billion. The Sacco has a growing membership of over 10,000 members.


Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to:

Past and Present Employees of:

  1. Judiciary.
  2. Office of the Attorney General.
  3. Government ministries and departments.
  4. Sheria Sacco and its projects and subsidiaries.
  5. Kenya School of Law.
  6. Universities.
  7. Law Society of Kenya.
  8. Quasi-government institutions under the Office of the Attorney General and Judiciary.
  9. Non-governmental organisations.

Other Eligible Members:

  1. A member’s spouse or immediate family member.
  2. Advocates of the High Court of Kenya.
  3. Students of the Kenya School of Law.
  4. Certified Public Secretaries.
  5. Approved business entrepreneurs and institutions.
  6. Any individual employed by an organisation registered in Kenya, capable of making regular contributions and fulfilling loan repayment requirements.

Membership Requirements

  1. Completed membership application form (available for download on the Sacco’s website).
  2. Copy of National ID or passport.
  3. Duly filled nominee card.
  4. One passport-size photo.
  5. Payment of Kshs 1,700 as follows:
    • Kshs 1,000 for registration.
    • Kshs 500 for FOSA account opening.
    • Kshs 200 for Burial Benevolent Fund registration.

  3. Members have a voice in the Sacco’s management through representation at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
