Ukulima Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Ukulima Sacco, established in 1972, is a national Savings and Credit Co-operative Society with a robust asset base of Kshs 14.66 billion and a membership of over 47,000 people. With its headquarters in Nairobi, the Sacco operates FOSA branch networks in Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, Embu, Nakuru, Kisii, and Kakamega.


Membership Eligibility

Ukulima Sacco membership is open to:

1. Individuals

  • Employees of the National Government.
  • Employees of the County Government.
  • Employees of educational institutions.
  • Staff from parastatals and government agencies.
  • Employees of private companies.

2. Corporates

  • Private companies.
  • Public companies.
  • Clubs and partnerships.
  • Co-operative societies.
  • Groups and chamas, including self-help groups.

Membership Requirements/ Process

(a) Individual Membership

  1. Complete the membership application form (available on the Sacco’s website).
  2. Attach:
    • A copy of National ID or valid Kenyan passport.
    • A coloured passport-size photograph.
    • Latest payslip (if applicable).
    • A copy of KRA PIN.
  3. Pay:
    • Joining fee: Kshs 1,000.
    • Minimum monthly contribution: Kshs 2,000.

(b) Diaspora Membership

(i) Individual Diaspora Membership
  • Complete the individual diaspora membership application form.
  • Attach:
    • A valid Kenyan passport.
    • A coloured passport-size photograph.
(ii) Joint Diaspora Membership
  • Complete the joint diaspora membership application form.
  • Attach:
    • A valid Kenyan passport for all applicants.
    • A coloured passport-size photograph for all applicants.
(iii) Group Diaspora Membership
  • Complete the group diaspora membership form.
  • Attach:
    • Minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join the Sacco.
    • The group’s constitution.
    • Copies of valid Kenyan passports and coloured passport-size photographs of authorized signatories.
    • A copy of the group’s registration certificate.
