Lainisha Sacco began its journey in the early 1990s as the banking section of Mwea Amalgamated Rice Growers Society. After the amalgamation separated into two entities, Lainisha Sacco emerged as an independent savings and credit organization on 21st January 1993, primarily serving rice farmers. In November 2014, the Sacco rebranded to Lainisha Sacco and expanded its common bond, opening membership to a diverse range of individuals and groups.
