Jamii Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Jamii Sacco, officially registered in 1972, was initially established by civil servants of the Department of Social Service. With an asset base of Kshs 5.44 billion, it is one of the largest deposit-taking Saccos in Kenya. The Sacco focuses on mobilizing savings and providing innovative credit solutions to ensure exceptional returns and customer experience.


Membership Eligibility

Jamii Sacco welcomes members from various sectors, including:

  • Public Service Employees: Government ministries and parastatals.
  • Institutional Employees: Employees of government institutions like the Kenya National Library and Women Enterprise Fund (WEF).
  • Private Sector: Employees of private companies and NGOs.
  • Self-Employed Individuals: Entrepreneurs and freelancers.
  • Groups and Organizations: Registered self-help groups and community-based organizations.

Membership Requirements

  1. Application:
    • Fill out the membership application form available on the Sacco’s website or from its offices/delegates in every county.
  2. Documentation:
    • Original and copy of National ID.
    • Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
  3. Fees and Contributions:
    • Entrance Fee: Kshs 1,000.
    • Monthly Contribution: Minimum of Kshs 3,300 (Kshs 300 allocated to the Jamii Benevolent Fund).
    • Share Capital: Minimum of Kshs 20,000, payable in monthly installments of Kshs 500.
