Kenpipe Sacco, established in 1981 by employees of Kenya Pipeline Company, is a welfare organization that provides savings avenues and loan facilities to its members. Initially starting with less than 140 members, the Sacco has expanded its common bond to accommodate other individuals and groups.
Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to:
- Employees of Kenya Pipeline Company and its subsidiaries who comply with the Sacco’s by-laws.
- Any person, institution, or group meeting the specified conditions as outlined in the by-laws and membership policy.
Membership Qualification
A person, institution, or group is eligible for membership if they meet the following conditions:
- Are within the field of membership as defined in the Sacco’s by-laws.
- Are 18 years of age or older, if a natural person.
- Are not directly involved in money lending, except for legitimately registered entities.
- Do not carry out activities detrimental to the Sacco’s objectives.
- Have good character.
- Have regular income from employment, business, trade, or other legitimate sources.
- Have accepted the objectives, obligations, and conditions of membership stated in the by-laws and membership policy.
Membership Requirements
- Complete a membership application form (available on the Sacco’s website).
- Pay a registration fee of Kshs 1,000.
- Contribute an initial share capital of Kshs 2,000.
- Provide copies of National ID/Passport and KRA PIN certificate.
