GDC Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

GDC Sacco, formerly known as Githunguri Dairy and Community Sacco, is a licensed deposit-taking Sacco established in 2003. With an asset base exceeding 4.25 billion, GDC Sacco is one of the largest and fastest-growing Saccos in Kenya. It operates both BOSA and FOSA services.

Membership Eligibility

Any Kenyan citizen can join GDC Sacco, whether as an individual, group, or diaspora member.

Membership Requirements

(i). Individual Account

1. Complete a personal account application form (available on the Sacco’s website or at Sacco offices).
2. Attach a copy of your National ID or valid Kenyan passport.
3. Provide a coloured passport-size photograph.
4. Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.

(ii). Joint Account

1. Complete the joint account application form (downloadable from the Sacco’s website).
2. Provide copies of National IDs or valid Kenyan passports for all applicants.
3. Provide passport-size photographs for all applicants.

(iii). Group Account

Suitable for welfare groups, corporates, schools, hospitals, churches, and other institutions.

1. Complete the group account application form.
2. Attach the minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join GDC Sacco.
3. Provide the group’s constitution.
4. Attach copies of ID, passport, and passport-size photographs of authorized signatories.
5. Provide a copy of the group’s registration certificate.

(iv). Diaspora Membership

Open to members residing abroad who can provide proof of being in the diaspora and commit to regular contributions.

1. Complete the account opening form.
2. Attach a copy of ID/Passport.
3. Attach a copy of your KRA PIN certificate.
4. Provide a passport-size photograph.
5. Complete Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements by being introduced by an existing member.
