Ndege Chai Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Ndege Chai Sacco, established in 1978, is a licensed deposit-taking cooperative society that offers its members opportunities to save and access affordable loans to improve their economic and social welfare. The Sacco currently has over 66,000 active members and an asset base exceeding Kshs 4.27 billion.


Membership Eligibility

Ndege Chai Sacco operates under an open membership bond and draws members from:

  • Employees of Finlays countrywide.
  • Local tea factories.
  • Spouses of members.
  • Employees of tea companies.
  • Private security firms.
  • County government staff.
  • NGOs.
  • Business community.
  • Farmers and outgrowers.
  • Recreational clubs and hotels.
  • Approved business entrepreneurs and institutions.

Membership Admission

  • An applicant is admitted after being accepted by a simple majority vote of the Board of Directors.
  • To qualify for membership rights and privileges:
    • Pay an entrance fee (as prescribed in the membership policy).
    • Pay in full the share capital of Kshs 5,000 (50 shares at Kshs 100 each).
