Nyati Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Nyati Sacco, established in 1977, is a licensed deposit-taking cooperative society regulated by SASRA. It was originally founded by employees of Securicor Security (now G4S Security) to foster a savings culture among members and provide financial support for personal development, school fees, and emergencies.

The Sacco boasts a membership of 27,367 with an asset base of Kshs 4.58 billion, a loan portfolio of Kshs 3.53 billion, and a share capital of Kshs 148 million.


Membership Eligibility

Nyati Sacco membership is open to:

  1. Employees from organisations with a check-off agreement with the Sacco, including:
    • G4S Secure Data Solutions.
    • Tandu Alarms.
    • Drugnet Limited.
    • Turtle Bay Resort.
    • Absolute Security.
    • Secure Contractors.
    • Buffalo Bicycles.
    • Estec Kenya.
    • Cloves Management.
    • Kleen Homes.
    • Wecan Security.
    • Gulf Energy.
    • Cobra Security.
  2. Employees of other organisations approved by the board.
  3. Former employees of companies with check-off agreements with Nyati Sacco.
  4. Employees of Nyati Sacco.
  5. Spouses and children of existing Nyati Sacco members, introduced in writing by the member.

Membership Requirements

To become a member, the following are required:

  1. Complete a membership application form (available on the Sacco’s website or through offices and delegates countrywide).
  2. Provide the following documents:
    • Copy of National ID.
    • Copy of the latest payslip.
    • Copy of ATM card.
    • Two coloured passport-sized photos.
  3. Pay an entry fee of Kshs 500.
  4. Make a minimum monthly deposit of Kshs 1,200.
  5. Purchase a minimum share capital of Kshs 3,000.

  • Members with substantial savings require fewer or no guarantors to secure loans.
