Maisha Bora Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Maisha Bora Sacco is a financial institution governed by the Constitution of Kenya, relevant Acts of Parliament, Sacco by-laws, and Sacco policies. With an asset base of Kshs 5.18 billion and a loan portfolio of Kshs 3.26 billion, the Sacco supports its operations with member deposits of Kshs 3.78 billion, share capital of Kshs 301 million, and other liabilities.

Membership Eligibility

Maisha Bora Sacco welcomes members from the following categories:

1. Employees of Unilever and affiliated companies.
2. Private companies.
3. NGOs.
4. National and county government employees.
5. Kenyans in the diaspora.
6. Business communities.
7. Registered groups.

Membership Requirements

(i) Individual Membership

• Duly completed membership application form (available for download on the Sacco’s website).
• Copy of National ID.
• Two coloured passport-size photos.
• Payment of a registration fee of Kshs 2,000.

(ii) Group/Chama Membership

• Completed group membership application form.
• Minutes of the group meeting with a resolution authorizing account opening with Maisha Bora Sacco.
• Original and copy of Identity Cards for all signatories.
• One coloured passport-size photo for each signatory.
• Copy of the group’s registration certificate.
• Copy of the group’s constitution.
• A list of all group members, including ID numbers, signed by the members.
• Introduction letter from relevant government ministries (if applicable).
• Account opening fee of Kshs 2,000.
• Minimum monthly contribution of Kshs 3,000.

How to Join Maisha Bora Sacco

Online Registration

1. Visit the Sacco’s website:
   Online Registration Form.
2. Complete the online membership application form.
3. Pay the joining fee and share capital using Paybill Number 600110 with your ID number as the account reference.
4. Alternatively, deposit the fee directly into the bank or at the FOSA office.

Hardcopy Registration

1. Obtain the membership application form from the Sacco’s office or download it from the Sacco’s website:
   Membership Form Download.
2. Attach the following:
   • Copy of National ID.
   • Passport-size photo.
   • Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
3. Submit the completed form to the Sacco’s customer care desk or email it to [email protected].
4. Pay the joining fee of Kshs 2,000 and a minimum share capital of Kshs 1,000.
