  • Ensure the compressed air source is disconnected.
  • Remove the air regulator from the bottom of the gun.

2. Empty the Paint Cup

  • Open the paint cup lid and pour out unused material into appropriate waste containers:
    • Hardened (Catalyzed) Material: For solidified paint.
    • Base Coat (Liquid) Material: For liquid paint waste.

3. Wipe Out the Paint Cup

  • Use paper towels to remove residual paint from the cup and lid.
  • Be cautious with paint thinner, as it can degrade paper towels.

4. Rinse the Paint Cup with Waste Thinner

  • Shake the paint gun to coat the interior thoroughly.

5. Flush the Thinner through the Fluid Nozzle

  • Point the fluid nozzle into a waste container.
  • Squeeze the trigger to discharge the thinner.

6. Repeat the Process

  • Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the interior is clean.

7. Remove the Paint Cup

  • Unscrew the paint cup counterclockwise and set it aside.

8. Disassemble the Fluid Needle

  • Remove the fluid adjustment knob and spring.
  • Press the trigger and pull out the fluid needle.
  • Clean all parts with waste thinner.

9. Remove the Air Cap and Fluid Nozzle

  • Unscrew the air cap and use a paint gun key to remove the fluid nozzle.
  • Clean these parts with waste thinner.

10. Rinse with Clean Thinner

  • After the initial cleaning, rinse all parts, including the gun body and components, with clean thinner.

11. Dry the Parts

  • Use paper towels to dry all components.
  • Use compressed air to clean and dry hard-to-reach areas.

12. Lubricate and Reassemble

  • Apply a light oil to moving parts and threads to prevent sticking or seizing.
  • Wipe off excess oil with clean paper towels.

13. Final Cleanup

  • Dispose of waste materials properly in designated containers.
  • Clean your work area and store the paint gun.

Tips for Effective Cleaning

  • Use paper towels or lint-free rags to avoid leaving fibers behind.
  • Always wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Clean your paint gun immediately after use to prevent paint from hardening.

Proper Waste Disposal

  • Take waste materials to a local recycling center that accepts paints and solvents.
  • Contact Paint Care or similar organizations for recycling options.

By following these steps, you’ll maintain a clean, contaminant-free paint gun that is ready for use or storage.
