Stima DT Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

Stima DT Sacco, established in 1974, is one of Kenya’s largest deposit-taking Saccos with an asset base of Kshs 53.78 billion. Initially formed to serve employees of the East African Power & Lighting Company, the Sacco now caters to individuals, businesses, groups, and corporate entities from diverse sectors.

Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to:

  • Individuals in employment from all sectors.
  • Business persons.
  • Groups and chamas.
  • Corporate entities.

Membership Requirements

1. Individual Membership

  • Complete the membership application form.
  • Attach a copy of National ID/Passport.
  • Provide a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
  • Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
  • Contribute a share capital of Kshs 25,000.
  • Commit to a minimum monthly saving of Kshs 1,000.

2. Joint Membership

  • Complete the membership application form.
  • Attach copies of National ID/Passport for both applicants.
  • Provide coloured passport-size photographs for both applicants.
  • Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
  • Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
  • Contribute a share capital of Kshs 25,000.

3. Group Membership (Chamas & Self-Help Groups)

  • Complete the corporate membership application form.
  • Attach a photocopy of the registration certificate.
  • Provide minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join Stima Sacco.
  • Constitution of the group.
  • Copies of ID cards, KRA PIN certificates, and photos of authorised signatories.
  • List of group members.
  • Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
  • Contribute a share capital of Kshs 25,000.
  • Commit to a minimum monthly saving of Kshs 5,000.

4. Corporate Membership

  • Complete the corporate membership application form.
  • Attach a director’s resolution to open the account.
  • Provide a copy of the certificate of incorporation.
  • Attach copies of ID/Passports of signatories.
  • Provide a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  • Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
  • Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
  • Contribute a share capital of Kshs 50,000.
  • Commit to a minimum monthly saving of Kshs 10,000.

a) Credit Products

  1. Personal Loans:
    • Normal loan, Super loan, Salary advance, Makeover loan.
  2. Business Loans:
    • Local purchase order financing, Invoice discounting.
  3. Specialized Loans:
    • Asset finance, School fees loan, Plot financing loan, Makaazi poa loan, Msingi bora loan.

b) Savings Products

Non-withdrawable Accounts:

  • Shares capital account, Alpha deposit savings account.

Withdrawable Accounts:

  • Twiga savings account, Junior star, Msingi bora.

Term Deposit Accounts:

  • Call deposit account, Fixed deposit account, Golden savings account.
