Kenya National Police Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

The Kenya National Police Sacco was registered on 20th November 1972 under registration certificate CS/2092. With over 71,000 members, the Sacco boasts an asset base of Kshs 48.7 billion, a loan portfolio of Kshs 41 billion, and total deposits of Kshs 29 billion. It operates branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kakamega, Meru, Nyeri, Kisii, and Nakuru.


Membership Eligibility

A person of either gender is eligible for membership if they meet any of the following qualifications:

  1. Serving and retired officers of:
    • Regular police service.
    • Administration police service.
  2. Civilians employed by the Kenya Police Service.
  3. Employees of:
    • Kenya National Police DT Sacco Society.
    • Utumishi Investment Limited.
    • Ruaraka Housing Estate Limited.
  4. Permanent employees in the civil service.
  5. Employees of corporate entities operating in Kenya.
  6. Members of the business community.
  7. Spouse, son, or daughter of the above members.

Membership Requirements

To join the Sacco, the following documents are required:

  1. A fully filled membership application form (available for download on the Sacco’s website).
  2. A copy of the National Identity Card (both sides).
  3. Two recent passport-size colour photographs.

Membership Withdrawal

  • Withdrawal is voluntary and must be communicated in writing through a signed letter and completed withdrawal form (available at the Sacco offices).
  • The withdrawal process takes 60 days after acknowledgment of the letter and upon meeting all requirements, including:
    • Clearing all liabilities with the Sacco.
    • Replacing any members the withdrawing member has guaranteed.
