The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) determines and reviews the salary and benefits of the President of Kenya. Article 230(4)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya grants SRC the mandate to set remuneration for state officers at both the national and county levels.
The Third Remuneration and Benefits Review Cycle (covering financial years 2021/2022 to 2024/2025) establishes the current salary and benefits structure for the President.
Salary Structure for the President
The gross monthly salary for the President in FY 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 remains KES 1,443,750, structured as follows:
Financial Year | Gross Monthly Salary (KES) | Basic Salary (KES) | House Allowance (KES) | Salary Market Adjustment (KES) |
---|---|---|---|---|
2023/2024 | 1,443,750 | 866,250 | 350,000 | 227,500 |
2024/2025 | 1,443,750 | 866,250 | 350,000 | 227,500 |
