The first match, set to begin at 3:00 PM, will see Kampala University, the two-time champions, face off against the current title holders Uganda Martyrs University (UMU). Both teams are seasoned contenders, and this match is expected to set the tone for the tournament with a fierce competition between the champions. UMU will also battle Nkozi University, offering another gripping contest for fans to look forward to.
At 5:00 PM, the spotlight will shift to the clash between Kyambogo University, the 2018 champions, and ISBAT University. This encounter is shaping up to be an exciting one, with both teams aiming to stake their claim in the tournament early on.
The 2025 edition brings a new twist to the format: each team will only meet once in the group stages, whether at home or away, adding a level of unpredictability to the competition. The top-performing teams in each group will automatically progress to the quarterfinals, alongside the three best runners-up from other groups.
This season also welcomes Mountain of the Moon University, Censor University, Soroti University, and Lira University—new entrants eager to make their mark and add fresh talent and excitement to the competition.
