Doha — The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index ended Thursday’s trading session lower, shedding 43.16 points, or 0.39%, to close at 11,099.21 points.
Market activity was subdued as 140.8 million shares changed hands, with a total turnover of QAR 426.98 million, executed through 20,093 transactions across all listed sectors.
Investor sentiment was mixed. Shares of 17 companies advanced, while 33 stocks declined and three remained unchanged compared to the previous session.
By the close, market capitalization slipped to QAR 662.66 billion, down from QAR 664.85 billion in the prior session, reflecting the overall downturn.
The QSE has seen choppy trading in recent weeks, with investors balancing regional economic developments and global market signals. Thursday’s pullback underscores persistent volatility across Gulf equity markets, which remain sensitive to energy prices and policy expectations.
The latest decline comes as Qatari equities continue to trade in line with broader regional trends, where selective buying has not been enough to offset wider selling pressure.
